Howdy

I have been getting the same issue as manflu (see his video link) when I have downloaded the maps as I join servers 20+. The graphics and colours are wacky and I get a crackling sound when moving. Is there somewhere I can find the map files to download without having Halo open to see if this makes a difference?

p.s my graphics and sound drivers are up to date

A quick update as it may help manflu and anyone else with the same issue...

I was advised that the error may be happening because I am using an Italian disc which has different bitmap and sound files than the English disc. I have experimented since then and replaced the bitmap and sound files with English versions and Halo refused to start up so this does seem to support the theory. The new maps are likely to require the English version bitmap/sound files in order to work. I will be picking up an English version disc in the next few days so will update this post when I've tested it.

Yup it seems that the issue was due to me using an Italian disc. I tried an English version today and have downloaded several maps since perfectly. :D

I think Nk_Chick said he's addressing the mines problem in a future version of Presidio. But for now I've changed the gametype on PC20 to remove the unlimited nades (my options are unlimited or not). So the map default now is 2 nades and 1 mine.

The Pit (CE6) is a public CE map that someone made 4 years ago. I doubt they are doing any further development on it. If you can find a better version of The Pit (perhaps here) then let me know.


I know it's weird but i was surfing your forums and could not help noticing you guys are runing one of your servers with "the pit" a pretty unfinished version of there map, so i wild suggest using a recent bets of another version of this map, even though this version features H1 weapones these are way more balanced.
