I'm shocked and pumped to see that 343 Industries / Microsoft is working on
Halo for PC
March 25, 2015 - 343 INDUSTRIES wrote:Today, we’re excited to announce a project we’ve been working on with our partners Saber Interactive and Innova Systems: Halo Online, an all-new, free Halo multiplayer PC experience that will launch in spring, only in Russia.
Halo Online is powered by a highly modified version of the Halo 3 engine and optimized for smooth performance on lower-end PCs. While there’s no campaign mode, Halo Online is set on a secret UNSC space installation called Anvil, where Spartan-IV soldiers train together in war exercises to sharpen their battle skills and test experimental technology.
There MUST be plans to make this available elsewhere when it's done, right??!!
EDIT (April 11): Although the OFFICIAL beta version is only planned for Russia (so far), there are UNofficial versions that can be played elsewhere. See the links below and the more recent posts for details.
I'll add links here as I find them (see the bottom of this post).
Best way to see a translation of the website: 1) Use the Chrome web browser to go to the Russian site. 2) Patiently wait for the interactive parts of the site to load (background rotates). 3) Right-click at the top-middle of the page and select "Translate to English".
The term of the confidential Beta testing is set to 26 in March 2015 to 26 in April 2015. Term Confidential Beta-testing, including the expiration date may be changed.
